Modes of Operation

The Modes of Operation Table summarizes, by orbit, the instrument settings that were used to configure LITE for each mode of operation. It contains, for each orbit the following information:

• preprocessing file descriptors,
• orbit number,
• GMT,
• MET,
• latitude,
• longitude,
• data take mode,
• motor motion,
• aperture wheel position,
• three wavelength filter status,
• three wavelength attenuation settings,
• three wavelength measured high voltage values, and
• comments.

Notes:

For each orbit, the first entry lists instrument settings at orbit start and the last entry lists instrument settings at orbit end.

Other entries were added whenever any of the above instrument parameters changed value. For the measured high voltages, an entry line was added if voltages for 355 nm and 532 nm changed by at least 44.05 volts, and voltage for 1064 nm changed by at least 1.28 volts.

The comments provide a brief description about the type of measurement and identify when special modes of operation, gain change, multiscatter, and surface measurements, were performed.
