LITE Level 1 Gain Calculation Document

The following explains the relationship between high voltage, HV, attenuation, dB, and gains.

The amplifier gains are computed as follows:

The Photo Multiplier Tube (PMT) Gain = 10**beta, where,

beta = a + b*(HV) + c*(HV*HV) + d*(HV*HV*HV).

High Voltage, HV, is always a negative number in this formula. The coefficients, a, b, and c, are given in the following table:

Channel a b c d
355 -5.5687 -1.5899e-02 -8.5630e-06 -1.8471e-09
532 -4.5957 -1.2511e-02 -5.2399e-06 -8.8527e-10

The Avalanche Photodiode (APD) Gain (1064 channel) is fixed at 75.
