Description:
A database of NetCDF files containing GOES-16 convection detection and characterization products throughout the lifetime of the 10 August 2020 derecho storm system that impacted the Midwestern United States. Included in these files are GOES-16 Advanced Baseline Imager 10.3 micron infrared brightness temperature, GOES-16 Geostationary Lightning Mapper Lightning Flash Extent Density, NASA MERRA-2 tropopause temperature, and many other products at 1 to 5 minute resolution and ~2 km spatial spatial resolution from 0800 to 2359 UTC that were used to document the evolution of the derecho from a GOES-16 perspective. Also included is a database of NetCDF files containing a set of 5-minute and 2 km NEXRAD GridRad products that were used in conjunction with the GOES-16 data to document derecho evolution.
