LITE Level 1 Instrument Settings Overview
How do I use the LITE header parameters? |
Check the
Operation Mode Parameters to identify:
- datatake mode (day or night) - datatakemode
- type of operational mode (normal, multiscatter, gain change, or in transition) -
specialopsmode
The Modes of Operation Document summarizes, by orbit, the instrument settings that were
used to configure LITE for each mode of operation.
|
Check the
Validity Parameter to determine if the profiles are valid, questionable, or invalid.
Profiles may be questionable due to:
- bad ISDB/AOE data,
- boresight not aligned,
- 355 or 532 nm high voltage greater than -1000,
- 1064 nm high voltage greater than -399, or
- underflow occurred in baseline subtraction region.
Profiles may be invalid due to:
- motor/wheel/filter motion,
- aperture wheel in closed position,
- high voltage disabled, or
- the number of saturated counts in a profile is greater than 460,
- underflow occurred in the baseline subtraction region (see:
outofrangsubreg355,
outofrangsubreg532,
outofrangsubreg064)
|
Check the
Instrument Status Parameters to determine the status of the instrument.
|
Check the following
Instrument Setting Parameters
for each wavelength:
- Surface Mode Parameters
- Attenuation Parameters
- Background Value Parameters
- High Voltage Parameters (Measured voltages and Commanded voltages)
- Energy Monitor Parameters
- Filter Status Parameters
|
Check the
Out of Range Conditions to determine if underflow or overflow conditions have occurred. The user will
need to decide if out-of-range conditions cause the profiles to be invalid. |
