NASA African Monsoon Multidisciplinary Analyses


NAMMA Logo LARGE scientists used the NASA DC-8 in August 2006 to study the formation and evolution of tropical hurricanes in the Atlantic and their impact on the U.S. They were also interested in whether aerosols affect cloud precipitation and influence cyclone development. For the NAMMA project, the LARGE team was based out of Cape Verde.
